Paisa Diary
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Paisa Diary is a daily expense tracker for Android made by Jeri Technologies (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: your diary stays on your phone, backups go only to places you choose, and we never receive your data.
Information the app stores
Everything you enter (amounts, categories, accounts, notes, budgets, recurring entries, and the names and phone numbers of people you lend to or borrow from) is saved in a database on your phone. Paisa Diary has no user accounts and no servers of ours that receive this data. We cannot see, access or recover it.
No ads, no tracking
The app contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools. We do not sell, rent or share personal information.
Google Drive backup (optional)
- If you choose “Connect Google Drive”, the app uses Google Sign-In and asks for one permission: to see, create and delete its own configuration data in your Google Drive (the
drive.appdatascope). - Backups are saved in a hidden folder in your own Google Drive that only Paisa Diary can read. The app cannot see or change any of your other Drive files.
- The app uses your Google account's email address only to show which account backups go to. Backups travel directly between your phone and Google. We never receive a copy.
- The app keeps the last 7 daily backups and deletes older ones. You can disconnect at any time from Backup & restore in the app.
- Paisa Diary's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google's own privacy policy applies to data stored in your Google account.
Backup files and reports you share
When you save a backup file or export a report (Excel or PDF), Android's share menu opens and you choose where it goes, such as Files, email or WhatsApp. The app sends it nowhere else.
Contacts
When you add a person for lent or borrowed money, you can pick them from your contacts. The app opens Android's contact picker and reads only the contact you select (name and phone number). It does not ask for permission to read your contact list, and it does not upload contacts anywhere.
Notifications
The daily reminder and recurring-entry reminders are scheduled on your phone. No data is sent to anyone to deliver them.
Android device backup
Depending on your phone's settings, Android may include the app's data in your device's own Google backup. This is controlled by Android and your Google account, not by us.
Deleting your data
- Uninstalling Paisa Diary deletes all its data from your phone.
- To delete Drive backups: open Google Drive on the web, go to Settings, then Manage apps, find Paisa Diary, and choose “Delete hidden app data”.
- There is no account to delete, because the app has none.
Children
Paisa Diary is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
